This tool allows users to view property details such as parcel identification numbers (PINs), addresses, school districts, zoning, and other community information. The goal of the GIS system is to maintain and update a comprehensive spatial database that supports the needs of all Village employees, enabling them to provide improved services to Willowbrook’s residents, businesses, and visitors.
Village GIS System Application
The Village offers a geographic information system (GIS) application, which is a computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing data and events that happen on the earth and, in our case, in the Village of Willowbrook. The Village joined the GIS Consortium to help further these efforts. The GIS Consortium (GISC) is an organization of 39 Chicago-area communities unified by common goals to share resources, information, staffing, and technology so that municipalities can optimize the value of GIS. GIS helps Willowbrook automate and improve traditional business processes, from mapping incidents to supporting infrastructure systems and projects.
