The Village has announced the promotion of Robert R. Schaller to the position of Chief of Police, effective March 12, 2018. Chief Schaller had previously served as the Deputy Chief of Police for the Village, and prior to that, was a long-term patrol officer. During his tenure as patrol officer he was assigned to Investigations and to the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a task force officer. Chief Schaller was a recipient of the 2004 Illinois Law Enforcement Medal of Honor and 2008 Award of Valor from the Hundred Club of DuPage County. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State University and is a Graduate of Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Staff and Command, FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute.

His years of dedicated service and familiarity with the Willowbrook community will make the transition to chief easier and will ensure that the exemplary service our police department provides to our residents and businesses continues,” said Mayor Frank Trilla. “Bob has gained important police management experience while serving as Deputy Chief and has also shown his willingness to serve special assignments to further the mission of law enforcement officials. He will continue to foster and grow the programs and relationships the Willowbrook Police Department is proud of.”
