Village staff, along with the Village’s mosquito abatement contractor, Clarke Environmental, has been closely monitoring mosquito activity. In an effort to control mosquito populations and reduce the current high annoyance levels, the Mayor and Village Board has authorized a Village-wide spraying to occur on the evening of Thursday, July 13th (weather permitting). Please call Clarke Environmental with any questions regarding the Village-wide spray at (800) 942-2555. Although the Village has authorized the Village-wide spray, it is still advised that residents take precautions when outside especially around dusk. The DuPage County Health Department recommends the use of mosquito repellents with about 30% DEET (about 10% DEET for children age 2-12). Adults should supervise repellent use on children. Do not use any repellents on children under 2 years of age without consulting your doctor. Apply them to clothes whenever possible and apply sparingly to skin if the label permits.
