The Village of Willowbrook has recently started work on the 3,000,000 gallon (3 MG) Standpipe Painting and Rehabilitation Project. The Project includes miscellaneous metal repairs and minor equipment replacement as well as the painting of the entire interior and exterior surfaces of the water storage facility. Due to the age of the existing facility, the rehabilitation/maintenance work is necessary in order to continue to provide an adequate, environmentally safe, and reliable water service to the community. Funding for the Project is being provided by a low interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The PWSLP is funded by both state and federal sources. The $960,000 loan has an interest rate of 1.86% and will be repaid over 20 years.
