Willowbrook's Snow Removal Operations have a goal of clearing snow from all streets within 8 hours after the conclusion of a snowfall (snow accumulations in excess of 3” will proportionately increase the time required to clear the streets).
When residents clear their private driveways and sidewalks, they are expected to deposit the snow to the side and not directly into the street. Snow deposited into the street after roads are already cleared will merely compact with vehicle traffic and ultimately become ice patches, which can create hazardous conditions. This hard-packed snow and ice will not scrape off with plows and can only be salted in an attempt to mitigate the slippery conditions. Therefore, per Section 5-3-6:A of the Village Code, residents are expected to refrain from intentionally depositing snow directly into the streets.
