Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District (FCWRD) has enacted a Sewer Use Credit Ordinance that allows metered commercial users a chance to save money by receiving a credit for the water that does not enter the sanitary sewage system. Effective beginning in October 2012, the credit allows metered commercial customers to install a separate water meter dedicated to measuring water usage on systems such as irrigation (sprinkler) systems or evaporative cooling systems.
With an approved separate meter, FCWRD will adjust the customer's bill to reflect only the amount of water that actually enters the sanitary sewage system. Before the passage of this ordinance, businesses were billed based on total water usage even if some of the water used never made it into the sewer system. In order to apply for this new program, an application needs to be filled out and sent to FCWRD for approval. The application is available for download below.
