Property Tax
Tax Overview
Located in DuPage County, the Village of Willowbrook has one of the lowest tax rates for a municipality in the Chicago metropolitan area. The reason is twofold:
  • The Village does not levy property tax for general village services
    • A small tax levy is assessed for special recreation needs
    • The total levy amount of $74,620 for 2015 equates to a tax rate of 0.0192
  • The Village has a Park Department rather than a park district which is a separate taxing body

Equalized Assessed Value
The Village has experienced continued growth in Equalized Assessed Value (EAV) for properties located within the Village. The Village tax base mix is comprised of:
  • Residential: 76%
  • Commercial: 17%
  • Industrial: 7%

Since 1997, the Village's EAV has grown from $246,530,279 to $380,404,305 in 2014, which is a 54.3% increase.
