Free Trail Guides

Did you know there are over 280 miles of multi-purpose trails, bicycle lanes and bike routes in DuPage County available for walkers, joggers, bicyclists (and many suitable for equestrians)?  Free trail guides are available from DuPage County for the Southern DuPage County Regional Trail in Naperville, Lisle and Downers Grove Townships and the Illinois Prairie Path and Great Western Trail which runs through central and western DuPage.  Send your mailing address to dfagan@dupageco.org or call 630-407-6883, or you may print out maps on-line at www.dupageco.org/bikeways.

Park/Athletic Facility Permits

Park/Event and Athletic Facility Permit Applications are now being accepted. Reserve your place in one of our parks for your next family or corporate outing. Operation Homefront Program

Lt. Governor Pat Quinn announced support of this program which supports Illinois's military families. The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund, which is facilitated through the Lt. Governor's office, assists the families of Illinois National Guard members and reservists called to active duty who may be facing financial hardships with expenses such as rent, groceries and utility bills. The Fund has already assisted more than 5,000 Illinois military families. To learn more about the program, visit the website at www.OperationHomefront.org or call the Lt. Energy Assistance-LIHEAP

Don't Be Left In The Cold! DuPage County can help qualified households with heat and/or electric bills and furnace repairs. The  Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps qualified households through direct financial assistance.  An overdue  bill or disconnect notice is not required to receive LIHEAP assistance. August Storms and Flooding Assistance

Governor Blagojevich announced that Cook, DuPage and McHenry residents can receive federal Small Business Administration Assistance (SBA) for late August storms and flooding. Homeowners can apply for loans of up to $200,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property. Businesses and private non-profit organizations may borrow up to $1.5 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. The SBA will announce the locations of local service centers shortly. Individuals and businesses unable to visit an SBA Center in person may obtain information and loan applications by calling toll-free (800)659-2955. Hearing impaired individuals may call (800)877-8339.

The filing deadline to return applications for property damage is January 15, 2008. The deadline to return economic injury applications is August 18, 2008.
