The Willowbrook Police Department is comprised of 25 full-time sworn police officers including the Chief of Police and 4 full-time civilian employees.  Three officers are assigned to Administrative positions.  These include the Chief, the Deputy Chief - Operations who oversees all patrol and detective operations, and the Deputy Chief - Administration who supervises civilian employees and handles the administrative functions of the department.  The remaining twenty-two sworn officers are assigned to operational assignments.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. was formed to develop a set of law enforcement standards and establish and administer an accreditation process by which law enforcement agencies at the state and local levels can demonstrate voluntarily that they meet professional criteria. The overall goal of the accreditation program is to improve the delivery of law enforcement services from coast to coast. The Willowbrook Police Department was originally awarded accredited status in Savannah, Georgia on November 16, 1991. The Department was reaccredited for the fourth time at the July 2005 Commission meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, the Department was reaccredited until November of 2008 and has continued to remain in compliance with the applicable accreditation standards.
