Parks & Recreation
The Village of Willowbrook Parks and
Recreation Department currently owns and operates over 54 acres of parks
on its 10 sites throughout the Village. Its largest park, the Tony
and Florence Borse Memorial Community Park contains ballfields, volleyball
and basketball courts, a playground and picnic pavilions. Most of
the neighborhood parks include playgrounds and a variety of active
recreation facilities, picnic tables and drinking fountains. These
parks are particularly attractive to the residents of their immediate
area.
The Parks and Recreation Department operates a year-round recreation
program for all ages. The department utilizes its parks, rented
school facilities, independent contractors and cooperative agreements with
other recreation agencies to deliver these recreation services.
Seasonal brochures are mailed to residents in May, August and December (Fun
Guide) . The Village of Willowbrook is a member of the Gateway
Special Recreation Association with six other communities in providing
service to persons with disabilities who do not choose to participate in
the general recreation programming.
